1543488258Code 6118 Aeronautical compassEnglish aeronautical compass made of brass, glass and bakelite model 6A / 1671 Type P.10 N. 28942 B from the 1940s, used on Spitfire, Hurricane, Tiger Moth and mounted on a wooden board. Compass diameter 18 cm - 7 inches. Base cm 19.5x19.5 - inches 7.67x7.67; total height cm 12 - inches 4.72. Very good condition, fully functional.

The first real flight happened in 1903, when the Wright brothers made fly - and keep in the air for 12 seconds - a glider with a motor of 16 horsepower at Kill Devil Hill in North Carolina, USA. But the father of aviation, by the scientific community and aeronautics, is considered Alberto Santos-Dumont, who, during a flight on November 12, 1906, has made to take off a machine heavier than air without external help (the Wright brothers had instead used a sort of catapult to take off).
