1605537201Code 6767 Aviation compassPocket compass used by Britihs aviation officers made of chromed brass in the shape of a pocket watch, complete with chain signed Dennison Birmingham VI 59259 of 1917. The compass has a lid with snap closure with release button inside of the ring. Four-winds compass card complete with goniometric circle for calculating horizontal angles. Excellent condition, fully functional, diameter 4.5 cm - 1.77 inches, thickness 1.8 cm - 0.7 inches.

Aaron Lufkin Dennison (1812-1895) was a watch case manufacturer from late 1874 to 24 at Villa Road Handsworth, Birmingham, UK. He had previously been the CEO of the American Waltham Watch Company in the United States, where he made the first watch with interchangeable parts.
