Maximum length 64 cm - 25.19 inches, minimum 44 cm - 17.32 inches, focal diameter 4 cm - 1.57 inches. Excellent condition fully and functional, complete with custom-made wood and brass base.

Maker of aeronautical and marine navigational instruments, the Henry Hughes and Son (1828-1947) was originally a clock maker firm in the East End of London that later made sextants and chronometers. In 1947 it merged with Kelvin Bottomley & Baird Ltd. becoming Kelvin & Hughes Limited.
