1721490849Code 7966-1 CleatWooden cleat or castagnola from the early 1900s in the shape of a pi used to secure a rope, coming from a fishing boat in Northern France. Generally fixed by strong through screws on a resistant part of the hull of the deck. Measurements 20x2.5x4.2 cm – 7.9x1x1.7

Cleat is the nautical term used to indicate a fixed device for securing a rope or rope or cable. The most traditional model consists of a flat surface in contact with the boat from which one or more shorter rods protrude vertically, from which, parallel to the base plate, two pointed or flared ends are fixed which serve to prevent the cable from coming out.

Bitta is the nautical term used to indicate a low and sturdy column, found on the decks of boats, to which mooring cables are tied or wrapped. The bollard can be made of metal, stone, or wood, and in the upper part it ends in a shape that prevents the cable from slipping out of the mooring when under tension. Mooring is the set of nautical operations that serve to make a vessel permanently stationary at a given point on the coast and is distinguished from anchoring both because an anchor is not necessarily used to moor and because it involves a stop in port, at anchor or a short distance from the coast, and not in deep water.
