1761927732Code 8292 Lighthouse ModelScale model of a lighthouse, made in the 1950s in papier-mâché, plaster and wood, on a wooden base.
Located on top of a building, it has a cylindrical tower that narrows slightly towards the top. At the top is the lantern, which houses the lamp, lens and rotation mechanism.
At the base, between the rocks, there is a small marina protected by the cliff, with some boats and a pier.
Good state of conservation.

Lighthouses have always played a fundamental role in the safety of maritime navigation, signaling coasts, rocks and ports, and assisting navigation at night or in case of fog.
The oldest and most famous lighthouse is that of Alexandria in Egypt, built between 280 and 247 BC, approximately 100 meters high and considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Romans also erected light towers in the ports and along the coasts of the Empire as an aid to navigation.
Starting from the 12th century, with the recovery of maritime trade, there was a new impulse in the construction of lighthouses. The Genoa Lantern, in operation since 1139, and the Cordouan lighthouse in France – the first built on the high seas, between 1584 and 1611 – are significant examples.
In the 19th century, the introduction of the diopter-prismatic Fresnel lens made it possible to produce much more powerful light beams visible from great distances, radically transforming headlight lighting.

Do you provide an authenticity certificate/expertise?
Of course! The legislative decree n. 42/2004 stipulates that who sells works of art or historical and archaeological items has the obligation to deliver to the purchaser the documents attesting to the authenticity of the object, or at least to submit the documents relating to the probable attribution and origin. Antik Arte & Scienza provides an expertise (as warranty) that contains a description, period and assignment or the author, if known, of the item.

Shipping by DHL or UPS is free (but if we are shipping to a country non-EU remember that any taxes and customs duties are on your expense), and items will be sent just after receiving of payment.

Other countries: delivering on the average in 5 weekdays; custom duties charged to the buyer.
