Good condition. Dimensions: 50 x 39.5 cm – 19.7 x 15.6 in.
The cork was cut and engraved to create a detailed castle, a forest, and highly textured reliefs, complete with a pond and boats at sea. It was then mounted on a rigid support and lightly hand-colored using natural tones, with blue for the water.
It is a three-dimensional scene created entirely from finely carved natural cork, a Victorian technique called corkwork, typical of artisan workshops that became popular in England in the mid-19th century and was primarily used to depict castles, ruins, romantic landscapes, and famous views.
Cork, a lightweight and easily workable material, was cut, engraved, layered, and modeled in bas-relief to recreate rocks, vegetation, and architecture, then mounted within deep frames to protect its fragility.

Do you provide an authenticity certificate/expertise?
Of course! The legislative decree n. 42/2004 stipulates that who sells works of art or historical and archaeological items has the obligation to deliver to the purchaser the documents attesting to the authenticity of the object, or at least to submit the documents relating to the probable attribution and origin. Antik Arte & Scienza provides an expertise (as warranty) that contains a description, period and assignment or the author, if known, of the item.

Shipping by DHL or UPS is free (but if we are shipping to a country non-EU remember that any taxes and customs duties are on your expense), and items will be sent just after receiving of payment.

Europe: delivering on the average in 2/3 weekdays.
Other countries: delivering on the average in 5 weekdays; custom duties charged to the buyer.
